Android Market has been Retired, Replaced by Google Play

CALIFORNIA - Google has taken a major step in bringing all the latest 'contents of his gun', ranging from the Android Market by Google into Google Music Play. Starting today, Google will begin rebranding Android Market, Google Music and Google Books.

Until now, everyone connected with the content under the banner of the Android Market. So with this new step, it looks like the company was interested in making the user understand the content as a whole.

Reported by The Verge, Wednesday (03/07/2012), a spokesman for Google said that Google's Play is the evolution of the Android Market. Play or be referred to Google Google Play Store, will be the single destination for all enterprise content, thereby Android books, music and video applications will become Google's Play Books, Music and Google Google Play Play Movies.

Google Play is intended to unify the content offered by the internet giant, not only for mobile devices but also the browser.

Meanwhile, Android device running version 2.2 or later will have their application automatically Android Market, which will be updated in the coming days. Then the name of the Android Market will retire, though it looks like users will not miss too considering similarities to Google's Play.

Google seems to be a concentration on the Google service is cloud-based Play and create connected content. In a statement on its blog that wants to help the user, to understand that Google Play is similar to Apple or iTunes iCloud Match.

But the service is only available in the United States, while still limited in other countries. So terlpeas of finite existence, Google Play now would be the official destination Android applications.

Google Chrome Final Version: Free download

SAN FRANCISCO - Google finally released the final version of  the latest  Chrome  browser software for desktop and laptop computers Free Download.

Parties Google says, this latest Chrome web browser will provide fast performance and responsiveness.

Google Chrome OS Beta Version

CALIFORNIA - Google is rumored to  be preparing for  the official launch of Chrome OS their operating system en masse in the second week in May.

Certainty is obtained, after Google introduced changes to its cloud-based OS, such as stability, beta Version and developer. However, only the features for developers and beta really dilauncing later.

Google membeli perusahaan travel ITA

WASHINGTON - Keinginan Google membeli perusahaan travel ITA Software senilai USD700 juta akhirnya mendapat lampu hijau dari pemerintah Amerika Serikat, dalam hal ini Departemen Kehakiman. Pembelian ini akan memberikan Google peran penting dalam industri perjalanan online.

Melalui pembelian ini, Google menjanjikan lebih banyak pilihan serta cara yang lebih baik untuk mencari tiket pesawat secara online dengan menggabungkan teknologi ITA, yang mendukung sistem reservasi mayoritas maskapai penerbangan AS, dan situs-situs travel populer.

Kendati demikian, Google harus memenuhi beberapa kondisi jika ingin rencana pembelian itu benar-benar terjadi. Google harus mengizinkan pelanggan lama ITA memperpanjang kontrak mereka hingga 2016 dan memastikan pelanggan baru ITA mendapatkan pelayanan yang "adil, beralasan serta tidak terikat dengan syarat-syarat yang diskriminatif".

Selain itu, Google dilarang membuat perjanjian dengan maskapai penerbangan yang berpotensi membatasi pembagian tempat duduk serta informasi booking untuk para kompetitor. Demikian seperti dilansir Yahoo News, Sabtu (9/4/2011).

Keputusan Google untuk membeli ITA Software memang mencuatkan kekhawatiran di kalangan kompetitor jika perusahaan asal Mountain View itu bakal semakin mendominasi mesin pencari internet. Tak ayal, Departemen Kehakiman juga memberikan syarat agar Google terus mendapat pengawasan dari otoritas federal guna memastikan perusahaan itu tidak melakukan praktik monopoli.

"Pemerintah jelas ingin terus mengawasi Google. Kemampuan untuk menggunakan dominasi pencarian internet untuk menutup persaingan dengan kompetitor bukanlah hal baru dalam industri perjalanan," cetus Thomas Barnett selaku pengacara untuk Expedia Inc, yang menentang kesepakatan ini bersama sejumlah layanan perjalanan online lain seperti Travelocity, Kayak Software dan Bing milik Microsoft.

Music Cloud Google

Tidak ingin kalah dari Amazon, raksasa internet Google pun mengindikasikan bakal merilis aplikasi musik berbasis cloud dalam waktu dekat.
Sebuah aplikasi layanan musik cloud dilaporkan muncul dalam Android Market versi developer. Meski belum live, banyak pihak meyakini aplikasi itu akan segera diperkenalkan. Demikian dilansir Telegraph, Kamis (7/4/2011).


Situs spesialis musik digital Music Ally mengklaim, sudah ada sejumlah orang yang menggunakan aplikasi itu. "Mereka menilai aplikasi itu sangat mengesankan serta memiliki fitur lebih kaya dibandingkan layanan musik cloud Amazon saat ini," tulis Music Ally.


Pekan lalu, Amazon mengejutkan Google dan Apple dengan meluncurkan layanan musik cloud, Cloud Player, yang memungkinkan pengguna menyimpan seluruh koleksi musik mereka secara online dan mengaksesnya dari berbagai perangkat.


Sementara, situs teknologi Engadget menilai aplikasi musik Google sangat mirip dengan Android Music Player yang sudah ada saat ini. "Penampilan aplikasi ini hampir sama dengan Android Music Player. Sedangkan menu setting-nya telah diperkaya dengan berbagai opsi streaming."


"Android Market-nya sendiri juga sedikit berubah, di mana versi developernya menyertakan sejumlah kejutan seperti aplikasi kamera serta jam meja baru," tutup Engadget.
